3oo[mb] had a question about attacking before mm+1.

If you attack and ovie/hatch/ob on walls or mid before +1, that is considered a MM rush thus a DQ. 

So if andy has a marine and kills an ovie during the scout, that is a DQ according to the rules. Corrected. ^_^

mystery is this a dq then brat attacks hatches 3 seconds before grace period and kills a 3 scvs: no effect on outcome of the game, but trouble posted it as a dQ

I think we had a change in rules, but that's what I'm saying. With MM's slow these days, you have to wait until 10 mins to attack if mm was 8:30? That seems a bit slow. Looks like Andy mm rushed most of his games

The reason for a grace period is to differentiate between a MM rush for lesser points + win compared to a normal win + full points.

I understand that. What I'm saying is that most people attack after 60 sec but before 90 sec (example: andy and josh pushing tanks). I get that mm rush is you attack after 60 secs, but again, I think having it a full 30 sec is a bit too long

The current rules are stated such that if you attack with anything other than miners within MM+1 to MM+1.5 then it's mm rush.

It used to be this:

MM Rushing
- MM Rushing is allowed, but will receive 50% points of full win.
- MM rush grace period of 60-90 seconds
ex) MM 830, anytime between 930-1000 is considered MM RUSH
- Any controlled attack of 10 units per team member rushing in the middle before 60 seconds is a disqualification.
- Any controlled attack of 10 units per team member rushing in the middle in between 60-90 seconds is considered a MM Rush.
- Any controlled attack of 10 units per team member rushing in the middle after the grace period is considered a full game loss/win



Now it's this:
MM Rushing is allowed, but will receive 50% points of full win.
- MM rush grace period of 60-90 seconds
- Any player crossing the wall or mid and attacking before MM+1 will recieve a DQ.
- Any attack from any player between 60-90 after MM is considered a MM rush
- Any unit(s) besides scvs, probes, drones going across mid/side walls before 60 seconds of MM is DQ. Overlords are allowed to scout before MM.
- Opposing team is allowed to kill any unit as long as it is on their side prior to map max
- Clearing sides after MM is allowed as long as the units does not go past the wall edge of the opposing sides before MM+1
- if any unit attacking beyond the middle statue will be considered a DQ



I'm asking why and when it was changed. Because with rules currently as stated, temp drops and mm rcs are mm rushes

Correct. The rules are currently ambiguous and contradictory.  The rules were changed a long time ago, midway through ZCL ish.

Yes, I personally like all of our rules except this one because it changed without warning (it came to my attention when josh and andy recently went mid, and myst called out mm rush. we were all surprised). This effectively takes away MM rcs, temp drops, firebat drops, terran mid push, p mid push at mm, etc, which were all essential parts of our game until now.

So mm recall+1 is a mm rush??? since when.. mm rush is when players attack up mid after 1 min... when has this changed??? wtf ??
