Title: The Fight against Tyranny (and Trolls?)
Post by: AtheNA[BF] on September 02, 2011, 12:54:23 AM

The Fight against Tyranny (and Trolls?)

Recently I was a victim to a low, disgusting, and just sad gameplay tactic. After having complete side dominance of the game and my Protoss player recalling at will, the other Protoss
player (ATETANKA aka ? IMA TROLL-) recalled on my factories and blatantly hunted my add-ons.  To be more specific, he did this two times throughout the game. Needless to say I don?t have an endless amount of factories with add-ons, further more with Zerg creep in place, it only makes it harder.  Now I admit? I love to ?wraith whore?, but I still make tanks, and with my add-ons being unjustly sniped, it makes it very difficult to produce tanks effectively.

My question to the ADMINS, ?Is this a legal move??  Furthermore, responding and saying, ?Well it's legal but looked down upon and not advised?, IS NOT a VALID answer.  Why do you ask? I?ll explain :o If the general consensus among the players view this as a low and unsavory tactic and not advise to do, then it should be prohibited. Most of the ZC community agrees that bombing tech structures with air is a fugly tactic and thus it has been prohibited. I would also say, that the majority of the ZC community would also agree that specifically targeting add-ons with zealots in early-mid game is also a douche-bag tactic too... so why is this allowed too.  What do you think?

I feel that for the rules to be truly effective they must reflect the general accord of the players, and I for one cannot stand idly by and be took advantage of such a stumpy and nauseating tactics. Also, I would like to note that while there has not been a precedent on this issue to my knowledge, it does not mean we cannot set one NOW.  There are people who will always try to exploit the rules, just as people do our laws; however, when is enough, enough? When will we stand up against all that is wrong and unjust? And remember while you?re laughing at my pain and misfortune of this unfortunate crime? IT CAN HAPPEN TO YOU TOO.  WE ARE ALL POTENTIAL VICTIMS to this.

Thanks and Enjoy :o

P.S. This has happen to me by the same player on more than one occasion in different games. He said and I quote, " We were getting daddied and I needed to do something drastic." ATETANKA if you?re scared, just say so? I?ll understand. Other than that? DIE DIE DIE!!!!!!!!!!!

Feel free to leave your input.

The particualr game I'm referring to is - atetanka princeharry 3oo[mb] vs HatedGreatNess aSiL wash3r 9/1 32 minutes

Is this a legal move?  Furthermore, responding and saying, ?Well it's legal but looked down upon and not advised?, IS NOT a VALID answer

It is a valid answer, the rule is clear, there is nothing to argue, hunting with ground is legally allowed. Even more... with a systematic interpretion of the rules it does make sense. In Zc regulation air units has more restrictions than ground, because ground mid has to cross mid with alot of defense to hit buildings, yes u can rc, but is easier stop 1-3 arbs than stop 4 sets of wraith, but w.e.  According zcl rules"Bombing mains, supply depots, pylons and tech is NOT permitted. Anything else is okay". So if the units with more restricions are allowed to hunt addons, all more reason to let ground units hunt.

Those rules are made to keep the game running fast. If everyone starts to bombing or hunting buildings at mm or hatchings all the map, the game ll turn slow (less resources/units/slow remass, etc).

So, why is it allowed? Because: 1) if u get hunted, you are really bad (u are to suppose to stop ground units, or ur mid sucks or ur anti sucks) 2) The rule is fair, since the opposite player is allowed to hunt too. Also its funny cuz many ppl waste 2 sets of units to kill 1 building... u could be able to rebuild (if zerg creeps u, well change ur build...)

What is the essence of justice? Justice is equilibrium. You cant call this permission of hunt injustice, only because the others play dont do that. It doesnt make sense. For ex. normally nobody goes bcs, but it doesnt mean that making bcs isnt allowed.

So imo the rule is pretty fair according our zcl regulation.

Many people say bombing workers is "gay", y we shouldnt prohibit it? y not forbit mm rush? temp drop? or mm rc? what about sunken spore the whole map...? Well its so relative...

Greetings

Well I agree this can be a slippery slope. However unlike bombing money, temp drops, and the other things you posted, this game-play tactic renders a building useless due to a tech hunt. Factory add-on is 250hp? And further more... he just short recalls near Zerg side with zealots and runs them to add-on.

Also you say my toss player can do it too... and you are right, BUT I ask to the fellow ZC community, Do you really want a game where it becomes a hunt of pylons/add-ons/depots ?

Lastly your main argument is that, because the rules do not mentioned it, it is thus valid. I agree, the rules do not specifically denounce this, WHICH IS THE WHOLE POINT OF THIS POST. I am simply stating that do the vagueness of the rules, people can and will exploit such tactics. The whole point of this... is to set a precedent.

I'm always amazed at the people who cry when they get hunted. Just hunt his ass back. Toss is so easy to hunt and they usually won't even try to rebuild their defense. Anytime anyone played cheap against me, I just started hunting everything. Clear their cannons, then constantly switch bashing probes and SCVs. The only players that have successfully defended against wraith hunting are Mast-i-Kater and Kira. Watch reps and learn to defend and hunt back.

I think I'm the only player who didn't/doesn't wraith whore and I successfully SMASHED opponents with 2 sets of wraiths, 1 hunting and 1 defending sides...

Also try telling your Zerg to help...

You don't earn more points for playing like gentlemen, rules are rules and if you're not breaking any rules you're playing within them. I used to love MM blobbing not because it's cheap but because it's legal and funny, especially when directed at people protecting records etc. etc.

We all know Tanka has an abudance of sand up his vagina and will do whatever it takes to win. So the solution is simple, if he is on your team sabo him if you're against him convince the other 2 to sabo him.
