Title: ZC Career History
Post by: FalcoNraideN on July 09, 2011, 08:25:42 PM
For those of you who are interested in sharing your ZC career and those interested in reading others. I'll start:
FalcoNraideN's Autobiography

Some of the most entertaining and funny people quit. Some left as a group, some left one by one slowly, until we are where are today with only a handful of players that are on at different times so we don't even have 6 players most of the time.

And when we do have a game, its very lop sided and isn't a gg like how gg's used to be. All good things come to an end, cmon did we all really think that a single map concept like ZC would last more than a decade? in retrospect its still going on today which is a shocker if you look at the greater picture of gaming.

I had a lot of fun here and in ZCT. I created a jokester persona not too far away from my personality irl, many people loved me and many hated me, and that's to be expected with the way i acted -- but i wouldn't change it at all because i know i made things fun for me and a some of my close zc friends.

It's almost embarassing to admitt that ZC was a big part of our lives. Whether you admitt it or not... a single map layout in a 12 year old game was what most of us played more than any other game as a whole! (i know some of you think you're so cool that you would do anything to hide your zc addiction). But it was a part of our lives really, with as many hours as we put into it (thousands, really).

I first started playing 3v3 Shared No Rush 20, lmfao. That was what it was called before ZC. The minerals were not stacked but rather in a straight line down horizontally on the top and bottom of the map. This was around 2000. In 2001, i think, ZC v2 was created. I played a lot back in the day with the same name, FalconRaiden.

Then about April 2006 I started back up again.. after quitting since 2002. During the break I was just living life as a teen should, but i was getting in to trouble and spent way too much time with friends. My parents being strict wanted me home more often also to be honest. I did what most did, joined pubs play a few games and exit.

Along the way I ran into ConanTheReaver, the man responsible for my ZC affliction. He invited me to senmon where i met players that were much better than the general pub. While pubbing I met JohnnyCage, who joined my games all the time and would do /stat checks for me and advise me to ban, lol. We had a lot of fun lol.

I then invited JC to senmon also and started playing with people there. My memory isnt that good but at that time.. (mid-end of 2006) the real popular players of SenMon were Sehwan, Taknoprisonrs, Eviltoothpick, Puppet, Taps, Bobu40, Scv_gtg, and the [666] clan buddies. Im sure i'm missing a bunch of people that that sums it up.

It wasn't until Joe left ZCT (or was kicked out rather) and joined SenMon, that I and many others finally saw "Pro" level of zc gaming. He used all his skills from ZCT in SenMon and we were baffled. This was around the same time that Sehwan left, even removing me as a friend lol. I had no idea where he went. At the time Sehwan was the boss in senmon.. not only was he the best but he was one of the founders so you were somebody just by knowing him.

I would say I was pretty popular (without being boastful or cocky). I wasn't as good as ZCT by any means, or even like Tak or Puppet, but I was good enough and i would talk enough shit and played enough that people either looked up to me or wouldn't talk shit to me. Taps always told me this way later that he used to think i was gosu, lol. I did hack in early SenMon though.. like until late 06. Even Dawn knew i hacked, i even hacked in games WITH her lmfao!

It was pretty hard to hide when 120 zealots move at the same time. She didn't mind me enough to ban me, i did stop on her command though. Anyway, right before ZCT died for the first time, I only got to obs a very few games and had reps mostly. I remember my only connection to get obs was Sehwan who would ask for me, but Megix and Chops and the rest thought I was mere dust.

With the death of ZCT (the first time), we had a LOT of the players enter SenMon. Namely Tr0uble, Surya, Gamer and others i can't remember atm. Quinn was and is one of my favorite players, he was chill as fuck and wouldn't bitch about teams like people do nowadays. And surprisingly we had more upsets with the attitude of not caring who's on our team, than we do now with all the crying. Good times -- really.

I was really bad at this time. Many people surpassed me including JC who watched reps and obs'd many of the ZCT games. This is the time where me, puppet, and tapsilog were gaming all the time. Both of them passed me too. I was working 40 hours and taking 3 classes at the time while trying to get good at ZC. Right after work i would come home and go straight to gaming.. Joe used to say "see ya at 11:24 Falco" Thats when i got home from work.

There is only one guy who helped me get good. And everyone knew it. SurYa[MB]. He was also a muslim so we would talk about the bullshit our parents had us do and what we believed and thought about life. I never talked to another dude online as much as i did with him, no homo. He really showed me how to control your units and pay attention. I learned more from just watching him though, and also practicing myself.

These were my second favorite part of my ZC career. Had many good times as I got better, and played in SenMon with the leftovers from ZCTour and the rising stars of SenMon : RYUIII, Tapsilog, Puppet, JC, and myself.

I can't forget to mention my 2s ZC days with taknoprisonrs and eviltoothpick. They map takes about 2 hours a game and 3+ if its a GG, but it was fun. Tak on the other hand can get pretty nasty under stress.. but he didn't mean any of the BM.

Then ZCT came back, i met killer and arie (killer and nalium I already knew since they were from SenMon and i saw them back in '06). These were the best days. I shouldn't have to explain much here as most of you were a part of it. But it really was the most active time in ZC history with the highest number of mid pro and high pro gamers.

This was a long period of time, early 2008 to early 2010? Correct me if i'm wrong on this one. And after it ended.. well to be continued..

Khalaadun and m3rovingian were my two most favorite pubbers back in the day. M3ro aka cooJ was one of the best protoss pubs there was in 2006. And i played a lot of pubs those days. Vida was ok and JLL was a dick and a hacker. Panzo knew absolutely no English and was possibly retarded. khala did sell out to that guy IXXXXXI but i think he knew him irl or something, but he was really good.

Even though ppl didnt know the Lucivarian protoss build or the standard terran and zerg bases, people used common sence and strategy and we still had fun games.
Kickassdotcom has to be the dumbest guy on earth, agreeing to give chops his username in exchange for $15 paypal, an amount he never received LOL.

Can anyone mention some good pubbers in ur days?

Falco, I never thought you were dust I knew you were dust at that time. :)
I think my consistant bm'ing you over the months before you improved actually helped you strive for greatness because as I can recall when we would play for fun and the dreadead "oh shit I got Falco gg :\" situation became apparent you would tell me one day I will be better then you etc. etc.
So in all fairness that hunger for revenge and worth proving made you a better player and earned your right into ZCT.
Besides EmoGamer and Kyte you were amoung the top people to BM due to epic emotional responces.
